Lake O’ The Woods Club History Hike

 

Our History Hike begins at 10:00 AM (unless other arrangements are made) on specific Sundays* in 2026. Meet at the Clubhouse.

*Available Sundays: May 31; June 7, 14, 21, 28; July 5, 12, 19, 26; August 2, 16, 23, 30; September 6

The History Hike is free for first-time visitors to Lake O’ The Woods Club who pay for a daily Grounds Fee. For everyone else, the hike is $20. All proceeds go to the club for special projects.

Please arrive well before 10 AM on your reserved hike date to ensure time for registration before the hike starts.

Lake O’ The Woods Club and its 200+ acres of grounds has a rich history.

Our member-guided History Hike offers a unique opportunity to experience areas of LOWC that many visitors do not normally see. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the serene natural beauty of our grounds while learning stories about how LOWC became a nudist community over 90 years ago.

Visitors and C Members are welcome to enjoy the trails when accompanied by an A or AA Member. Interested in exploring even more of LOWC and enjoy year-round access to our ammenities? Consider becoming an A Member and enjoy expanded opportunities to experience our community.

  • Length: 1.4 miles / ~3400 steps

  • Level: Intermediate.

  • Terrain: Mostly shady wooded trail, some gravel road; elevation gain.

  • Time: About 75-90 minutes

  • Bottled water will be provided

  • Everyone will be nude, weather depending, but do bring a wrap or a towel to cover up where needed.

  • Led by a volunteer club member. Tips are not accepted.
